and now for the silly thing I was actually going to post...
Things I am not buying today include (but are not limited to):
A Bipedal Snail (website via
amubleu, who is fond of the frogs) The text is also kind of priceless-- I want a superhero who saves the world rarely! It is, as I mentioned to grauwulf when I read it off to him, kind of sad to think that this was probably not actually written by anyone. As opposed to, say, the Eye of Argon...
A nice long dark green wig such as this, to make into dryad hair (or a tealy one for a mer-creature, perhaps) out of not-the-right-green frustration.
A rerooting tool for plastic doll hair, because I have a pin vise, and bent needles I can butcher. (like so)
Awesome sparkly mica powders (because I am secretly actually twelve, as I explained to the other people in the volunteer office while I pried cheap plastic mirror-backed cabs off foam core that had been tossed in the trash the other week)
Sadly, I am also not reserving a hotel room for Readercon, or a ticket to the Lahr Symposium (day of native plant lectures & sales at the end of the month) although I hope soon to do both.
---
Also, a question for those who've been doing Monster High repaints: How are you handling the face-ups? Is it standard BJD rules with sealant & everything, or are there other guidelines for vinyl? Also (ok, so several questions...) is there a recommended way for getting a glitter sheen to adhere to a doll? Dust then spray with sealant, or what?
