apparently mythical creatures are "in" this season?

I'm not quite sure what to think about the Pipos cat mermaid things...

(oh, and I swear I posted it before, but the internet rabbit is called nabaztag, and apparently someone wrote them an opera)

The velveteen is contained, and merely needs a little handsewing to keep it that way once I take the pins out. And then there will be buttonholes with great abandon, but not tonight.

When are mythical creatures not in?? (I still don't get the Pipos mer-cat -- most cats would *hate* being in the water but I totally dig the Domadoll centaur). I have been into unicorns and pegasuses (pegasoi?) for ever -- I love the horsey beasts (I'm such a teenage girl at heart).

The current cat here is fascinated by water, although he doesn't want to do more than dip a paw in it, and our previous one had a thing about putting a foot into the water bowl (possibly so it couldn't get away?) and then leaving little wet/muddy footprints all over. And there are fishing cats... It's just such an odd concept, though. Let us take a furry housepet and combine it with something it would like to eat! If they didn't come with hideous orange body paint on pink bodies, I might be sort of tempted.

I've seen several centaur tinies, and made a brief attempt to start sculpting one of my own once, but I feel like horses ought to be larger than that. If I want a tiny centaur, I'll do something with a my little pony and Skipper or someone.
