the innocent sleep, that knits up the ravelled sleeve of care...

I am sitting at home updating this at 3:15 on a thursday because I was out finishing up an archaeological survey for a new waterline out beyond Dulles, and we finished a lunchtime.

But, having gotten home at 1, I have still done nothing more useful than eat lunch, bring in the mail, & check e-mail, because this is the time of year where I suddenly (usually triggered by stress of some sort, this year conveniently provided by the storage moving process, see prev. entry) begin waking up at about 5 in the morning without there being the faintest reason for doing so except that it's light out. This year that mostly boils down to: if I don't have anything else to do with my time (and sometimes then too) I am utterly exhausted and curl up in a chair or something & try to make up the sleep deficit. Which somehow never works with just naps.

This makes it very very hard to be productive, and my "to do" list is getting longer.

Hmmmm.... doesn't exercise make you sleep longer?
