interchangeable heads!!!

So I had yesterday off, due to the field supervisor hearing all sorts of bad weather reports about it raining all day, even though it didn't, and while I was at K-mart buying men's cargo pants (the ultimate fashion low) for work, I wandered through the doll & toy section.

And Matel is making "my scene" barbies with 3 interchangeable heads. I really, really want to buy all 3 models and make the princess of Ev from the Oz books-- the one they turned into Mombe in the Return to Oz movie, who had a roomful of heads in cabinets that she would change like dresses. Only sadly, I don't feel that I can really excuse spending $90 on this project...

We always treated our regular Barbies as if they had interchangeable heads... Although after awhile they'd get tears in the back of their heads.

Have you seen the Barbie dressed as Poison Ivy? It's kind of frightening, but cool. I sort of like the Barbie-as-comic-character collection since it's slightly different from their Barbie-as-hoochie or Barbie-as-mommy line.

Each doll has 3 heads, two of which come on these little holding stands. So I'd be short two stands, and only have two extra bodies. Perfect for the prop department while staging a french revolution or something. :)
