this is what was waiting for me when I got home. And then I had to shower & change out of all the dirty field stuff before I could unpack him...

I'm not sure if she's threatening to slit his throat, or offering to cut his hair... he doesn't seem too worried, at least.
default hair, with which he looks kind of like he's trying out as a Beatles impersonator or something... it's better with the part farther to the left, as opposed to where it was when I first put the wig on him, but it looks kind of silly. Very sad. And both wigs are rather large on him, a thing I may have to do something about at some point.

with flash, so you can see his pretty eyes. The left one looks a bit misty because it actually fell out during shipment, and I managed to get it all dusty putting it back in again... (for reasons I don't actually intend to explain, I think this is kind of sweet) I will need to take it out and wash it, but since I'll have to take them both out when I paint his face, I haven't done it yet. (The eyes are made of silicone, so they're slightly squishy, and dust does stick to them if you let it. But they're very pretty, and don't have the swirly color lines you often get in glass doll eyes. And won't burn or deform before about 3000 degrees, according to the manufacturers, although why I would need to know this, given that the resin the doll is made of will burn or start to deform long before this, I'm not entirely sure)
Of course, I'm also horribly tempted not to paint his face at all. I kind of like it like this. Although if I get him some eyelashes that'll keep the dust off his eyes better. And he'd photograph a lot better with a little color, and eyebrows would help balance out the darker wig.

I may need to get him some new hands, assuming the resin color and size is compatible with the LUTS/CP hands... Soom only has one hand mold for boys, and I'm really not sure what to do with this pointing finger hand sculpt. I'm pretty sure I can't think of a single instance where I'd use that hand position, so I'm not quite sure what to do with it, pose-wise. All in all, his hands seem to turn up looking awkward (also, I think, because there's something a little off with his arm stringing, which I'll have to mess with at some point) and if I were one of the scary people on the doll forum I'd say he's feeling a little nervous, and isn't sure what to do with himself yet. I think it will help if I find him something to hold onto.

And really? He doesn't look anything like this at all in person. the pictures lie. something about the shadows, I think. But I do quite like him.
Still contemplating the name; final decision on that may wait until after I paint his face. For which I need sealant...
