Well, that was fun...

I tried to go to work this morning. (oh, and let me mention that there's a light dusting of snow on the ground.) I got as far as the beltway, and then it took me 15 minutes to get on, merge in, listen to the traffic report, call and leave a message for Carey saying I wasn't going to make it in, merge back out, and get off at the same exit. And the traffic report described this as "slows" and then said that 270 N was completely blocked by an accident at Montrose Rd. There is really no other way to get to Gaithersburg from here besides the beltway, and no really reasonable way besides 270. So I'm going to hang out for a few hours... We shall see if it's worth going in later or not. (and thus whether it's worth going to climbing or not... is anyone else planning on attempting it?)

But I was going to go to work. And now my brain is having trouble changing tracks. And my calf hurts, apparently from 15 minutes of traffic. Waah, waah, waah.

no leaving the house again for me. I've been on the road for 3 hours taking my uncle to the airport.

Lovely. And grauwulf has been giving me updates... he finally got Troy to come take him to work after trying to stop and make sure someone else who spun off the road was ok and having his battery die on him. After an hour or two of fun with AAA people who thought 295 only existed in DC...

yeah, somewhere in there I decided that going out again was NOT the thing. And it's such a pitiful amount of snow for the mess it's making... Hope your uncle's flight gets out ok.

Hmmm, I know that Kevin is thinking of bailing, and I believe Shannon is as well.

I wasn't planning on it, but I'll make my decision when it gets a little closer to go time.

not going to make it. If I'd managed to make it to gaithersburg, then sure, but so far I haven't heard anything to make it seem like leaving the house is getting to be any better an idea.
