brainstorming! Life is wasted on the living!

I find myself in need of aphorisms, such as might be used to belittle someone telling a story in an "oh, yes, of course that wildly ridiculous thing is totally normal" kind of sense. [[Edit-- ie, the character may not believe it, but is genuinely pretending to do so.]] Such as "Truth is stranger than fiction," but so far that's the only one I've got.

I find sarcasm works well. Things like "Wow, really? I thought only superheros in comic books did things like that! you are sooooo awesome!"

No. Genuinely pretending to think it's true.

And I'm looking for aphorisms specifically because I've got several characters prompting the one who's supposed to be pretending to believe everything, and they need different voices.
