Place names in faerie?

My Wood doesn't have named places in it. But I'm sure other people's faerie lands have castles and markets and towns/cities and things with actual names. I just can't think of what any of them are... Feel free to borrow from any source, although citation is also appreciated. (So's I can go and look it up, that is.)

I like old English names for stuff like that.

Anything specific? I guess there's Avalon, but that's an island. I'm sort of looking for stuff other people will recognize as "oh, that's in faerie," if such things exist.

Harrowgate, Blackmoore, stuff like that. But not that those would really be fae-ish. I'd go through websites and look stuff up - Irish places have great names too.

Please not Avalon. ^___^

In my mind these places don't really have names, but rather a scent and feel. So not a name so much as a specific description. For example the big field in the saddle of the foothills is 'blooming lilac under pine breezes'.

Or - put it in actual places but use the old names?

(LOVE LOVE LOVE Kildare as a place name.)

The people I am writing about are not wolves, though...

How's your hand?

I'm not a wolf, that's just how I think about such things. It seems odd to me that a society who lives so close and in tune with nature (along with anything else) would 'need' a name for these places. They are where they are. *shrugs* then again it is 'my' head, why would anybody else understand why it works the way it does :P

red, swollen, painful. I don't have lockjaw so I'm going to let it heal on it's own. If it's not better by the end of the weekend I will go to doctor.

Did you *get* a tetanus shot? Because if you're going to do this sort of thing, I'd suggest that you do that sooner rather than later...

People who travel or are ruled over have names for "this is my village rather than that one over there, and the Important People live there instead." I'm looking for names on a tour route; therefore someone will call them something.

Also, you probably wouldn't have lockjaw symptoms for at least a week. So you don't know if you do yet. (I just looked it up. You don't want lockjaw. Go get your shots refreshed.)

Good. Thank you.

Yay not dying. Or even not going into muscular spasms repeatedly for 4-6 weeks.
