too many choices!
Feb. 1st, 2006 06:11 pm(this is my non-intellectual post for the evening... another may follow, if I get to it)
So the job in Fairfax (commuting from home!) fell through at the last minute, and I will continue to be out of town for the duration of the AP Hill project. Although at the last minute it occurred to me that there was a horrible possibility of my being stuck partnered with the really, really annoying guy from the Williamsburg project I was at in Dec, so this may be a good thing. But in the process of calling people to tell them about this, I find I have about 3 complete sets of activities I'd like to do this weekend, and I have no idea what to pick... the options are:
--University (free SCA event! learning stuff! yay! long drive to get there, not so yay) is on Saturday, and I could go to that, and take classes on stuff-- I haven't even read the course schedule yet, but there's what sounds like a good fencing melee class (and the tragedy of my fencing career so far is that I have somehow not managed to be in a group fight of any sort) and other stuff... But this is, as I said, far-ish away, and would involve driving, and take all of Saturday. [Edit: and, as it turns out, the schedule does not appear to be online, so I wouldn't know what was going on until I got there]
--Fairfax Chocolate Festival... according to
ssdevilducky it won't take all that long. But
fishy1 and friends are going on Saturday (and having missed doing stuff with her the last 3 weekends due to various schedule conflicts, it would be nice to connect at some point) and my mother is busy on Saturday (at the Minifest- the Washington Folk Festival's younger sibling, which has already been crossed off my list of stuff to do) and wants to go on Sunday, at which point I might be her only option for a companion, given that my father is going to want to be watching the superbowl.
--the chocolate-themed surprise birthday party of a friend of
ssdevilducky's (whom I haven't met yet) on Saturday evening, which is only a conflict with university
--FFG superbowl party, which I trust would involve more than watching football, and would definitely involve seeing people I haven't seen in a while because of, well, not being there. Although I might well see several of them on Saturday if I go to university.
So does anybody have any input or decision making skills to share with me? :)
