I live...

So I am back, slightly earlier than expected, as it was supposed to start raining last night. Maybe it's raining there; it isn't here. But anyway. I've finally gotten thorough the e-mail and the last 2 weeks or so of LJ posts and really ought to be unpacking... instead I'm wandering around feeling somewhat awkward & lost about the real world, and wondering why there's nobody to fence...

*Intensive Fencing Camp! whee! (ie the second week of pennsic, with a couple of party & other details as well, for those who are interested)

*my grandmother (father's side) died yesterday afternoon, shortly after I was getting out of the woods battle, I think. (which is sad, as she was my favorite grandparent, but... she was 92 and hasn't really been anybody for the last six months or so, and was decreasingly awake & coherent for the past three or four years, so it's really better that her body gave up at this point)

...my brain is melting... I think there was something else too, but I can't remember what it was. Maybe it was just e-mails I need to send out, instead.

intensive fencing camp!-- sorry-- Pennsic update

Week 1 I spent setting up camp, hanging out in a hammock, taking some classes, wandering around the merchants and buying rather little (except the hundred dollar huge-lots-of-hem belly dance skirt that I promptly wore to fence in...) and sewing colorful patches on various pieces of troyfish's fencing armor. (I think more people should wear patched clothing... ok, never mind that most of the fencers are trying to look all upper class and respectable...) And hanging out with Claire/Ragnhild and my 3-year-old fan club Ranga.

Week 2 (starting on Saturday) I headed out onto the rapier field. ( this is really really long, and probably not going to be of any interest whatsoever to those not familiar with the SCA rapier community, if even them... )
