Stolen (& reworded) from [livejournal.com profile] greta_k... and I'm evil! I'm actually tagging people!

When tagged, please write an entry with six random facts about yourself. Then tag six others, if you so desire.

1. I have been to every state in the union except for Florida and Alaska (well, and there's some uncertainty about North Dakota, also) and have driven my current car (purchaced new in fall of 2002) through 30 of them (all by myself.)

2. I prefer skirts that are wide enough to ride a horse in. (The test is if you can lift the hem on one side of the skirt above your head and still maintain decency)

3. I taught myself to knit by making a pair of socks (a project that most beginning knitters are afraid of.)

4. I once played Mr Body in a game of Clue (by selecting cards to put in the envelope) and on the third round made it suicide. While knitting the above-memtioned socks, as it happens...

5. While I don't drink coffee, I keep searching for a beverage that is sort of like latte or hot chocolate, only vanilla and possibly hazelnut flavored. (Actually, Starbucks has something kind of like this, but it's got a rather thin & watery taste to it, as if they'd put sugar & vanilla into half skim milk and half water or something odd like that... so far the closest I've managed is half a packet of hot chocolate mix with about 3 parts water to 1 part heavy whipping cream)

6. I was once stopped in the street by a complete stranger and asked, "Is there such a place as Transylvania?" (to which I said, "um, yes..." and he turned to his friend and exclaimed, "I told you so!")

Tagging: [livejournal.com profile] grauwulf, [livejournal.com profile] heuchera, [livejournal.com profile] hydecat, [livejournal.com profile] skittblink, [livejournal.com profile] vdriscoll, [livejournal.com profile] wink_ihsan... and anybody else who wants it, of course.

book!

(which I was still reading at 1 am last night, but that was kind of for different reasons...)

From The Curse of Chalion, by Lois McMaster Bujold:

If Ista spoke to very many of her duller company with the cryptic leaps of thought she'd sprung on him, it was little wonder rumors circulated of madness, and yet... her occasional opacity of discourse felt more like cipher than babble to him. Of an elusive internal consistency, if only one held the key to it.

---

"Events may be horrible or inescapable. Men have always a choice-- if not whether, then how, they may endure."

--

[at the end of a conversation on why love poems addressed to a lady's nose don't go over so well] "Hah. Anyway, I desire all of her. Nose and lips and feet and all the parts between, and her soul, without which her mere body would be all still and cold and claylike, and start to rot, and be not an object of destire at all."

[...which last I include mainly because (except for the pronouns) it sounds exactly like something I would say... which might be why a lot of people seem to think I'm crazy when I talk to them...]
