and it's raining! rain, rain, rain!

(I don't have to drive farther than the dealership to pick up the car, and the metro stop to take it to climbing, so I'm perfectly happy about it. And I feel a lot less bad about not going out into the field now...)

So, in the process of room-cleaning, I just opened my violin case to put away the new strings I got (over a month ago, hm...) and discovered that the last time I got out the instrument I'd also had the brilliant idea of replacing strings. The D was broken (which was ok, because for some bizarre reason I'd managed to collect 2 spares) but the other three are in pretty good shape, not to mention actually almost holding tune. And the bow doesn't need to be re-haired nearly as badly as I expected. I'm impressed. I like my violin... :)

And the car is ready to pick up, and now I just need to clear off my desk (and, um, put the serger somewhere...) so I can put my computer there & not have to invade my brother's room (where my father's cousin is going to be staying) to have a decent desk.

But next up-- lunch! yay food!
