Lots of people have been doing the daemon quiz on the golden compass site (I got a butterfly, which I suppose I should have left open to popular vote in hopes of upgrade, but didn't think of it in time...) But also on the same site, they have an alethiometer! Complete with translations of the symbols, so you don't have to lug around a tome of shades of meaning to work out what you want to say. And it also gives you desktop pictures for download, which is not a normal feature of an alethiometer...

And, shamelessly stolen from melaniesuzanne is custom creature taxidermy. Need a stuffed tabletop griffin? I think the squirrel head trophy mounts are absolutely fabulous, actually. And she has apalling skinned things and pickled things for those people like skittblink who appreciate such stuff.

Also, Target is evil... they have these shoes (which I totally don't need for any reason) up to a boy's size 2 in the "local" store, and not even that online. While all the boring sneakers go up to a 6, and I only need a 5. Admittedly, I was looking in the boy's aisle on the off chance they'd have saddle shoes (ha) which I also don't need, but still...
