"Wanna buy a small arab nation?"
Jan. 24th, 2008 07:20 pmSomething small with little scrabbly claws has decided to move into the attic right above my head as I attempt to sleep. Little blue pellets in large warning label packets have been tossed across the huge mounds of insulation in the hopes that it will eat of them and die. I feel a bit bad about it, but if small rodents feel the need to scrabble in the walls and occasionally make little rodent dying screamy noises, they will have to suffer the consequences. And we don't have any live traps, and even if we had I refuse to keep & feed a wild rodent over the weekend so that I can export it to the field on monday.
Due to poor scheduling on several people's parts, we won't be working tomorrow; I could, as it happens, choose to attend a safety meeting in the office (35 min drive each way) for an hour or two, but I feel that this is not entirely worth my time or the less than the cost of a tank of gas I'd get paid for it, since Carey finished all the cataloging for the project I was working on (including the bag with the porcelain doll leg!) and so there's nothing in the lab.
