this is the smell of progress!
Feb. 26th, 2008 07:23 pm"I want to drive around in a dune buggy, but they might be endangered." --Brian (to which my first response was "Dune buggies are endangered?"... apparently he meant the dunes)
And as it turns out, I strongly suspect the reason my knees were hurting all weekend was that besides kneeling on squashed-flat foam pads in the cold dirt all week, I also spent thursday in the tent heated by gas-powered propane heaters (don't ask me how this works... gas goes in the generator, to drive the heater that burns propane? or maybe people just keep saying propane and they're delusional?) inhaling toxic fumes. Yesterday the tent was open and the generators off, and today we only turned things on intermittently and I still started feeling like a canary about to expire. (part of that was probably because I kept going outside the heated tent and thus noticed the air quality instead of just getting used to it, but still...)
blech. I do so like being able to breathe...
