(no subject)

Ok, so this fall thing? We can totally start having that now...

Spent yesterday's icky-far-too-humid 90+ degree weather in the middle of a sunny field. Silly SCA. There were a bunch of people worthy of hanging out with (most of whom I didn't actually really talk to; still not feeling vastly sociable, I'm afraid) and there was fencing, which I'm told looked rather less like me flailing somewhat wildly than I felt it did. It would, of course, have helped if I'd noticed *before* the last fight that I wasn't actually making any attempt to attack people, but whatever. Going back to practice now that it's indoors would also be helpful.

Contemplating whether to drag someone in to DC for the doll meet this afternoon, or just stay home where it's cool and shady, and possibly investigate the options for getting good shoes for England. Let me just say that the north of England sounds like an excellent place to be just now. Fortunately the weather is supposed to start improving tomorrow.

I need to stop using ellipses in my informal prose.

Bought doll, can't sleep, brain goes whirr. Soon there will be a wild thing out of the wild wood. Possibly to be crowned with a real crow skull. (I have one, you see...)

alricthemad pointed out that he sees more of my dolls than me at this point. I said I didn't actually exist. (not sure if anyone believed me, but still.)

At least it has finally cooled down to the point where it's worth opening windows. And just as of recently we have wild enough woods to have exciting animal noises (owls, hawks, and something else that might be one of the foxes?) coming out of them. Besides the crickets and the distant beltway traffic, that is...
