My doll eye order shipped yesterday, and it's coming Priority Mail, so I might have it as soon as this weekend. (eee! finally!)

And after far too long on Tuesday night spent punching signatures of book pages with a needle, I remembered the existence of such a thing as a pin vice. Definitely a big improvement. Although I seem to be inheriting my grandfather's tools, piece by piece as I find I need things, and I'm starting to feel like I'm becoming somehow karmically obligated to produce a child who is as tool-crazy as my father, and thus inherit his tools in another twenty-five or thirty years.
