Jul. 5th, 2009 11:08 amWe did finally make it to Artomatic on Friday, and made it through the top half before our brains and feet gave out. (That's 4 office building sized floors of mixed art installations.) A lot of it was... let's say "not my style" but there was also a bunch of neat stuff. The two I liked enough to pick up cards from are: Mishka Jaeger's music (she's also got a website, but most of it is her rather cartoony kids' drawings, which I didn't like nearly as much) and the absolutely amazing Rania Hassen's knitting paintings. Go have a look!
We subsequently attempted to go wander college park in search of something interesting to eat, but were thwarted by the heel attempting to peel off of my boot. In case you find yourself in such a situation, be warned that a rubber-soled boot with a block heel will self-destruct completely within about half a mile, as each time your foot lifts up, it will bounce itself slightly more unglued as it rebounds between your foot and the ground. Having a shoe that goes sproing-oing-oing every time you lift your foot is also not particularly conducive to walking.
This morning also brings us a modest proposal (by way of
sartorias) for the recycling of unused letters, long since confined to dusty boxes in the backs of old libraries. I was slightly impressed with how easy I found this to read, actually.
