the cuckoo is a pretty bird

I was going to say something deep and coherent about public transit and going into Baltimore and visiting the Science Center, but I spent a bit too much time pulling out irritating weeds from the mess in the back yard earlier today and am not quite up to it. Suffice it to say that the Baltimore Science Center was relatively worthy, despite a rather inane planetarium show and the tank full of dead terrapins in the save the bay exhibit, but the "Chinasaurs" traveling exhibit was rather sad. I swear I saw those same animatronic dinosaurs in a traveling exhibit when I was about ten or eleven, and their bone casting and signage were both rather poor.

I'm not quite done with the first (and worst and largest) weed patch, but it'll go tomorrow, and then there's the one that's all vines around the storage building, and a bit of trimming around the house. But I should at least manage to keep the japanese knotweed from setting seed, which will help next year. We'll see.

I also am seriously contemplating signing up for one of the Baltimore Aquarium's exhibit care volunteer positions. We shall see.

And, speaking of links... some girl on craftster made people-sized Blithe doll heads for a hair fashion show. Creepy, yet strangely fascinating. I like the gothy one.

I suspect I had something more to say, but the ability to type is leaving me, and perhaps I should return to my bizarre dreams of running around Pennsic in the middle of the night looking for a good ice cream shop that's still open (and not serving half-melted soft serve or italian ice) before I run out of the drive to find the delete key.
