So, we had the house appraisal last night (in our efforts to move to a less irritating mortgage lender) and while the stairs could use a little more help (cleaning up the places where the trim got split by the nailgun, and re-painting the chips I took out in my complete lack of hammer coordination before we rented it) they are looking far better than we have ever seen them. The risers & half the side trim is a dusty green, and it actually looks pretty decent. Pictures might occur, if I weren't so lazy. At any rate, the house as a whole probably hasn't looked this good in years, if not decades, and I promised myself that today I could sit around and read a book and make quilt blocks as a reprieve from the mad cleaning frenzy.
I'm sure you will all be quite shocked to hear that no quilt blocks have yet occurred, but I did read some, and there's cinnamon raisin bread rising in the kitchen for which I should pre-heat the oven fairly soon. I've also posted the awesome craft cabinet I kept alluding toand then running away again on craftster, so you may all look at it if you so desire. (also for the record, the picture of my mending pile at the end is about two weeks old, and it has grown...) I kind of want to do a large version with all kinds of crazy labeling, probably to post on deviantArt, but I may not get to that.
Meanwhile, I am ignoring laundry, grocery shopping, the fact that I should be creating a garden now if I'm intending to do so this year, and several other things, and contemplating taking the rest of the book outside to finish it in the sunshine. We shall see.
