1) This Thursday we have tickets to go see the Arena Stage production of The Arabian Nights, because two people have said it's in the running for best theatrical production they've ever seen. It had better be good. (because...)

2) How much homework [personal profile] grauwulf gets done in the next two days is going to determine whether we're actually going to Ymir; there has not been a useful amount of advance planning on this point, and I am of several minds about whether I actually wish to go, or what I would do there. ([personal profile] grauwulf wants to go stab people; he also wishes to graduate with a decent GPA.) I have been told that, should I end up at a royal progress event in the next few months, the Queen wants to talk to me, as some well meaning person has been trying to get me ennobled again. It does not help that every time I say, "but I don't want a title," [personal profile] grauwulf tells me I am being offensive to those who care about the SCA game. At present, I'm not even playing it-- I might have been to three events in the last year-- so I don't see why people are trying to foist awards off on me anyway. Also, the last event I went to was spent knitting & listening to other people talk, and aside from wandering the A&S displays & saying hi to people, I don't know what I'd do all weekend.

3) I contemplate making a dress I've been thinking about making anyway to wear should we go to Ymir, but it would be out of the wool that has been sitting on the porch all winter in hopes that it will not relapse and smell of moth balls when I bring it back inside (as it did last time) and I would not wish to make a dress & discover it still smells of moth balls when heated by wearing it to an event two states away.

4) These things, they are ephemeral and not particularly important things, and they are NOT HELPED by other parties screaming at their computers because a certain college's horrible web interface keeps eating classwork at the point of posting it. Neither (more to the point) is the homework situation.

5) On the topic of things that are possibly less ephemeral, or perhaps that should be, I need to limit my internet days, and increase my writing days. (The former is a matter of not giving myself headaches as much as of conserving time; the latter should be self explanatory.) To this end, I am going to start posting daily word counts. Some days will be zero; this is ok. But I need more accountabilty to myself, or a better way to remember that saying "oh, and I didn't get around to writing today" is not... the way I tell myself I want the world to be ordered. Also, we are going for the Hawthorne effect, and remembering that making changes is a way to produce results. See failed new year's resolutions... Anyway, I'm starting tomorrow (today is another zero day) and going at least through the ides of March. Feel free to join me, if you are so inclined. All big projects welcome: the idea is more to have a "worked on X thing I want to have done" reminder than word-count specific.

6) And on the topic of things both ephemeral and more or less required, I've signed up for another crafty detective swap. Possibly I should know better by now, but I am being semi-eternally hopeful in the face of mediocre past swapping experience. As I wear my awesome leg warmers & bleached skully tank top (formerly t-shirt, with the sleeves cut off) from worthy swaps... Anyway, the stalking part is generally fun, up until the point I've spent six hours paging through someone's wist and made my eyes start to bleed.

7) Pictures tomorrow, I hope. Miss Beryl has tacky hand tattoos, reminiscent of the ball point pen doodling of high schoolers (and a temporary tattoo!), and I made an awesome scrap lace shirt that I haven't photographed yet.
