Still working on cheerful with decent success rate & manuscript revisions same. grauwulf got a call from someone he's been friends with for about 12 years, which was followed by one of those conversations that starts, "You know why I love you? Because you're NOT CRAZY!" and this time ended in a paean about how he loves me because I'm the sort of person who's never even had mescaline. I did not endeavor to point out how large a subset of the population shares this trait with me.)
In any case, this is why I allow the aster to take over half the garden bed:
