platonic ideals in consumerism
Aug. 26th, 2013 12:32 pmOk, more questions for the internet. I want the following:
a) A daily skin lotion with sunblock for me. Low SPF ok, minimal to no scent, minimal to no things like parabens that are supposed to be rather bad for one. Also something that's not going to be a problem when the Megatherium decides to chew on my nose, arms, and/or cheekbones, which she does. My daily-use beauty products presently consist of deodorant and toothpaste, so um, I'm a little at sea about where to start when the only thing Target seems to have that even claims to be lotion with sunblock rather than sunblock proper is the Aveno stuff that's got parabens in. (I don't know the latest research on that, either, but if I'm trying to do a daily thing rather than occasional I'm more inclined to be concerned about off-chances. Also the thing with suddenly having the ticky box for family cancer history.)
b) A treadmill. I want brisk walking on the level in all weathers, grauwulf wants to be able to jog. Smaller form factor and/or foldability a plus, ability to be moved by one adult probably also nice. The quieter operation the better, ease of mode-switching between different preferences a plus. Excessive frills like heart-rate monitoring and suchlike aren't particularly useful to us, though if there's such an option as adaptive speed based on how fast one's walking, I would be very interested in how/whether that works. Again, I know nothing, and haven't even managed to search the drawer of Consumer Reports to see what they've got, so whatever minimal expertise you might have would be welcomed.
Anything you can tell me that might be helpful in these quests would be much appreciated! Thanks!
