So the field project that was supposed to start sometime this week has gotten pushed back to "maybe monday" (which Carey warns me is purely rumor and not to be counted on)and so my options are as follows:

I can contact other archaeology firms, and see who has field projects going on locally. I have names and phone numbers for several of them. But I would have to update my resume (and I don't actually know how one ought to put together a good archaeology resume, as work experience comes in projects of at most several weeks or months duration) and actually contact people (trauma!), and oh look, I am out shopping with

fishy1 instead. um...

I can call up the temp agency, through which I am registered to work for URS, and see if they've got office stuff for the rest of the week, which would be easier, and would allow me to go back to URS, which I enjoy working for, if they get the project back in gear for next week.

I can, um, not do anything. Which is to say, pull my brain back together to the point of working on all the projects that I keep trying and miserably failing to finish (or in some cases start) for the rest of the week, and revisit options one and/or two on monday if necessary.

You can tell how vastly excited about doing anything responsible I am here. And now there must be further shopping, as I need clear snaps to make sparkly hair things, and small earring backs onto which I can glue googlie eyes. And
