( My Little Carrion Crow (more pictures) )
Hood adapted from a hand-me-down commercial pattern
spaceintheway sent a while back, and either I did the face hole wrong or their sizing is rather confused. Still cute, & this child's intuitive understanding of the art of dress-up means she'll wear it for 10-15 minutes at a time despite the tendency to flop down and cut off her upper field of vision. (Far better than not being able to see where she's going.) Wings are take 3-- there's a mostly finished very warm baby crow coat upstairs that still needs neck trim & fastenings, and a lovely pair of wings that she refused to have anything to do with (but they're big enough to keep in the costume closet for a few years, so maybe some other time.) This is two pieces of wool felt cut & whip stitched to a black sweater, and honestly I should have started with that in the first place. Notes to self: arm mobility is key. Toddlers look cute and do not feel cheated in simple costumes. Right then.
