"Don't call me at 3am..."
Jan. 21st, 2019 08:55 pmStill here, despite an inordinate number of nights in the last week where I was woken up in the middle of my sleep cycle. The Megatherium has had her first ear ache (announced after she crawled into our bed at 4am & made herself comfy, and then added, "Also, Mommy, I believe I have an ear ache," though it didn't get bad enough to merit doing anything about until after lunch the next day.) Grauwulf has been to a doctor who seems to be useful and have things for him to try right now, which are being tried. Yay for that. The kitchen sink is usable again thanks to a combined effort of many hands.
My productive brain is working on a several-hour time delay after everyone goes *away* but there was more than one day last week where I stared at the walls (ok, my computer) all morning and then actually did something after lunch.
Took my child to another kid's birthday party at a ridiculous place called "Hyper Kidz" yesterday, which was filled to capacity (they were turning away anyone who wasn't there for a registered party) and while I mostly sat around wondering where in the giant climbing apparatus my child had disappeared to and wishing I'd brought a book, I got to play with their light-up dance floor a bit, which was fun. I know virtually nothing about dance choreography, but I kind of want to work out a routine that plays with the lights. (They were running a koi pond simulation with fish & fast-moving groups of wavelets, and you had to touch a light to set off "ripples" of more light; the simulation was on a fairly short repeat, so I figured out a bunch of it in the space of a song or two, but I wasn't fast enough to determine if you could set off second order ripples from ones you'd just made...) We got to see the moon glowing pale orange at twice-normal-size on the way home, but only grauwulf went out to observe the eclipse in the late night plummeting temperatures.
