The thunderstorms have returned, bringing high winds that not only knocked down the obligatory medium-sized tulip branches, but have also fatally cracked a sizeable locust tree in the back yard. It's split pretty thoroughly from about 6 to 10 feet up, and fortunately it fell into a couple other trees which are holding it up instead of falling on the neighbor's house.

Meanwhile, I unplugged my computer and typed while the power was flickering... nothing like having a running deadline to increase productivity. Now at just over 4K, and Caroline is thoroughly lost in the woods, and still following the piglet around.
