Sigh...

So, I get a phone call from a friend RSVP-ing for one of the pre-parties, have a ten minute cheerful conversation, hang up, and then feel like curling up and crying. Stress, anyone? :/ Also, I wish my second amazon package would hurry up and get here; it's currently listed as having an arrival scan on Tuesday at a place called "---" which does not fill me with confidence that it will get here in time for me to present my not-exactly-bridesmaids with the things I ordered for them.

Now to determine how much lemonade is needed for 50 people at a 3-4 hour reception on what is starting to look like a nearly 90 degree day. Ugh.

You got RSVP's?! Totally not-fair, are you giving out candy at your party :)

I got an RSVP for your party, actually. (also one for mine, but that was over e-mail just now)

Also, latest award for eye rolling is that I just managed to melt the serger thread on the proto tablecloth I was ironing.

The rule that I've seen about figuring out how much beverage to buy is "in general, plan on two drinks per guest in the first hour and one drink per guest each hour thereafter" with the helpful note that people drink more when it is warm (duh). So.. maybe 1 person might consume 5-6 cups of lemonade in 3-4 hours on a 90 degree day?

I'm happy that it will be warm because it looks like my potential outfits all have short sleeves and I don't possess a warm shawl of any kind.

When they were saying sunny & mid-70s, I was all about it. Now they're saying sunny & high 80s, and every time I hear it, the temperature has gone up again. Clearly it is the wedding industry's revenge for my not wanting to wear their silly strapless fashions.

That sounds about like what I remember running into earlier. I'm just thrown off by the fact that I drink 2-3 times as much as normal people these days. (I'm also thinking brewing the tea a little strong and having an ice bucket right next to it might be the thing...)

Big hugs! I'm so glad the friend that's named me bride's maid is doing everything super simple so there's less stress. I can't imagine the hassle you're going through.

We can always drink water if you underestimate -- nothing like it on a hot day. I will think calming, stress-free thoughts in your direction. Also cooling.

Situation is improving, more or less. Except for my sewing machine dying, but I think it's just putting its foot down about my delaying getting it cleaned & re-tuned, and I'm very close to done sewing, anyway. (one last chiffon tweak on the dress...)

Anyway, have lemonade, have dress, Des is doing my makeup, etc. But we will be doing all the assembly of favors on Saturday.

Cooling thoughts appreciated. Perhaps I should put out a sacrificial ice cube...

Thanks. It would have been fine if I hadn't been moving at the same time... Oh well.
