thanateThis morning consisted mainly of continuations of the game of musical bank accounts (nothing bad; we're just trying to shift stuff around to the more convenient financial institutions) and more knitting. In a moment, I'm going to go start dealing with the stairs again. After that, there's a living room to clean and possibly a christmas tree to set up; we shall see.
Meanwhile, however, I thought I'd mention for the general audience that those of you who were amused by (and possibly those who, like me, were faintly horrified by) the Pride & Prejudice & Zombies phenomenon might wish to look into Mansfield Park and Mummies: Monster Mayhem, Matrimony, Ancient Curses, True Love, and Other Dire Delights. I haven't yet seen a copy of it myself, but everything I've read about it leads me to believe that it's not only far better done than the others, but that it's also a rather more appropriate choice of subject matter; it looks like someone who takes the joke and then actually does it right. (Sherwood Smith speaks for it here and here, and there's a historically-minded review here. And, as so many people these days, the author could seriously use the help.)
