thanateThe last time I saw this much snow, they shut SE Pennsylvania down for a day, except for emergency services. We seem to be doing better this time; the government is closed for tomorrow, but our road is passable, we've shoveled everything out that needs getting that way, and the weather is supposed to get well above freezing for the next several days. grauwulf has plugged his computer in to the power strip in the middle of the christmas tree, and I have baked sadly flat cookies (er, I put the butter on the heat vent to soften, and didn't get it chilled again sufficiently before baking them...) and there has been a great deal of curling up on the couch with the cat and blankets and books/computers.

A rather interesting analysis of common Christmas music. This is rather long and a bit color-prohibitive, but I found it got more fascinating the further I got. And I'm entirely in agreement with the author's opinion on carols vs Christmas songs.
