We've moved on to sunny with light wind gusting, and are down to some minor clean-up from the various fun with water earlier (er, so, there was the bit with hanging a second tarp inside the addition structure to keep run-off under the first tarp out of the current walls, and then there was the bit with the brand new sump pump getting its switch caught against the wall of the pit, and overflowing... but both these things are fixed now, and no real harm seems to have come of any of it.) The worst from the garden is that most of the pokeweed fell over (this is not an unusual thing for pokeweed to do) and the pepper plant I brought inside managed to snap off a branch as
grauwulf brushed past it. The power never did more than flicker, and the mourning dove & family appear to be hanging in there.
Both my parents' neighbor and my grandparents have reported in as being just fine. Apparently a giant tulip branch fell on my grandparents' roof (scaring the heck out of my aunt, who was in the room right underneath it at the time) but didn't let in any rain, or cause any damage visible by looking up at it. So, we're not complaining.
