After a couple false starts involving a blown fuse and a failure to pull the cardboard tab out of the condensate pump, we have now got functioning air conditioning, and it's even cooled down enough this evening that I don't feel any need to use it. Plus, it's raining. Classy.

I spent most of wednesday going back through books 2 & 3, and determining that much of what's there (except for Caroline's storyline in book 2) is pretty good, if only it had any transitions in it. Sigh. That was about seven hours of Doing Something, and then I wrote about forty words (sigh) so I guess that's tuesday and wednesday taken care of, but as yesterday was mostly lost to a slightly weird and awkward day at the aquarium (er, due to all the real staff being at an off-site thing, and apparently two of the three people there having been told we were supposed to be in charge) and then deciding it was far too hot with the a/c de-fused, so I spent much of the day reading a library book. Because there's not that much point in checking things out of the library if all I'm going to do is read two chapters over six or nine weeks & then take them back. And today I went to see Brave (which, despite the usual laundry list of historical/cultural notes & one continuity issue, I quite enjoyed) and then worked on the drawings I've been putting of doing so I can actually get the grauwulf to make me a new website. I remain terrible at drawing mice. But, the point remains, I am kind of like two days behind on this write-a-thon thing, which I would feel worse about if a) anybody had sponsored me, or b) I weren't feeling so overall lethargic for whatever reason. But the haven't, and I am, so on the whole I'm mostly glad I've managed to accomplish anything.

End dense paragraph of confusing text.

No caterpillars have yet hatched, but the yellowy eggs are starting to look speckled. Also, I have now got photographic proof of the existence of two frogs at the same time, and both parent wrens are feeding like crazy. Though sometimes they come back out of the birdhouse with things still in their beaks, which I don't understand.

Tomorrow, I am going to have eggs and spinach and mushroom and probably olives and other tasty things for breakfast, and it will be awesome. And then I will be useful (probably) and then the grauwulf will come back from going to look at motorcycles & things and we will go see that movie again. (uh, probably not until Sunday on the movie part. When I can also go to the farmers' market for the first time all month.)

Mom and dad wren are probably removing baby wren waste. A lot of baby birds produce compact little packages the parents can carry off.
