seven years of habit & 530 words
Nov. 1st, 2012 09:29 pmI still hadn't decided if I was going to NaNo this year, and then I spent lunch starting to write out what needed to come together in the last book. Apparently seven years of writing a novel in November makes a sustainable habit. In any case, I've a little bit of beginning for each of three viewpoint characters (Mara got added mid-planning-session, so that it's not just the boys who save the world) and am having the usual cravings for sleep or computer games or tangentially related books to go reread. Also the princess Theo is marrying is *not* from Dacia, as that's neither my universe nor particularly related to what I think Dinestra (where she is from-- though the name is still subject to change) is actually like. We'll see how this goes. With luck, I will at least sort out where the end of this thing is, and be able to come back and turn it all into a Real Thing later on. Whatever that turns out to be, as I stray farther and farther outside YA as a potential market category.
