It is cold and windy out. Garageband is stupid, and won't record in stereo (which is to say, let me record something in mono that plays in both speakers). Word is stupid and (I just discovered) made a huge mess of my very simple code for my homepage when I used it to update briefly before I had a real web page editor on the computer. Still working on that, too. None of the people I want to talk to are online, and they are all probably off doing much more interesting (or at least useful) things with their time. And I am too tired to appreciate Boccacio just now, and I don't have the other books I want to read yet. Oh, and my brother's phone interview didn't go particularly well, in large part because he hasn't been *doing* anything with his degree in the past two years now, and has forgotten lots of details of stuff he's supposed to know.

I think it is definitely time to go to sleep, as I am clearly not sufficiently motivated to stay awake right now. The whole being out in the wind & stuff is very draining. Particularly when we're surveying stuff that probably doesn't need to be looked at because the county is dumb, and then doing it in a huge hurry because the developer is dumb. Right then.

In Garage Band, you have to pan the tracks to one side or the other. It's actually how it normaly works in a recording studio too. It's the little "L-R" nob in the track controls...

right. the little "L-R" knob is grayed out, and sound only comes out of the left speaker, unless I put it on track-2 mono, in which case it's only the right. I don't get it, since this used to work just fine with the old GB and the old computer set-up.
