Taking a cue from the "Angry letters to your characters" forum on the NaNo site:

Dear Marigold,

If you would kindly go back and read chapter two, you will discover that you are Aladdin's long-lost mother, a perfectly normal mouse living on a suburban street. While your son has at long last begun searching for you, this is no call to appear in the third-to-last chapter as a super-villainess who has been attempting to mastermind Argent's plotline from the very beginning of the book. Nor is there any excuse for you to take over the role previously reserved for the queen of elfland. You're a mouse, as is your son. This does not a good elven queen make. Please take this into consideration.

On a separate note, please sign and return the enclosed disclosure agreement to Apollo. Your son would also like to know who his father is, and the Pythia is attempting to withhold this information.

Please consider these options carefully if you don't wish to come to a sticky end. There is a very large jaguar who would be delighted to find someone to kill off.

Sincerely,

the minor deity sitting at the keyboard here

In other news, I got one of those cheap foam mattress toppers last night, and now my bed is all squishy. (This is very exciting) Just out of curiosity, does anyone know if the swirly textured side is actually supposed to go up or down? I've always wondered...

Foam up or down?

Ut oh, long bloody wars have been waged over that question. It is second in bloodiness only to the swords should be bent thusly, question. The war ravaged sides went to the wise hermit who lived in the enchanted forest and asked, should it be flat side up or bumpy side up? And he answered.... Yes.
Personally though I've found flat side up to look better, but wavy side up works better.
