Uhhhh.... i think I can get a list of the cool costumey places, if you want :) I'm sure there's lots more neat stuff there besides costumey places, though, too.
What do you like? Like ships? The Maritime Museum at Greenwich. Like Gardens? Kensington Gardens (in London), Hampton Court Palace (nearby) Like Castles? Windsor Castle, Hampton Court Palace. Like weapons? Wallace Collection, Tower of London. Like paintings? National Gallery & National Portrait Gallery. Like material culture? Museum of London, the V&A, the British Museum. Like Churches? Westminster Abbey. St. Paul's. Want to do a day trip? Caerphilly Castle in South Wales (just north of Cardiff) was wonderful, as was Warwick Castle in Warwick, Eng. (near Stratford-on-Avon). There are many other wonderful daytrips, too (Bath, Battle, Norwich, Oxford, etc.)
I also recommend taking at least one of the walking tours offerd by The Original London Walks company (www.walks.com). They offer many varieties and the guides are very knowledgeable. Just finding a garden to walk through and sit in is pretty niffty, too.
