the word of the day is "AAAAAAAAAA(h)!!!"
Oct. 22nd, 2007 07:03 pm...any day that starts with getting hit by a bicyclist is bound to turn out badly. I was innocently driving to work, and turned left off the main road onto the smaller road that makes a T intersection and is immediately crossed by the bike path, which has stop signs that nobody (except my father) ever follows. And there was a cyclist coming up from the right, so I was keeping an eye on him to make sure he didn't do something dumb like try to get across the road in front of me as I turned, and the cyclist I didn't see coming from the left ignored his stop sign and ran into the back of my car. Have I mentioned I hate people recently? (I pulled into someone's driveway and went back to where the other guy had gotten off his bike and was making sure the idiot was ok; he claimed that he was, and I decided it was better to go away than give him a lecture on following traffic laws at the top of my lungs. Bah. They put the stop sign there for a reason, moron.)
Um... doll hallowe'en party pictures may some day exist. Waif took the costume contest by storm (there were perhaps three or four other really good costumes there) and won a prize for "most original" which we don't have yet.
Meanwhile, the following link seemed worthy of attention: http://www.bookcrossing.com/
It is not yet seven thirty, and it feels very much like bedtime. Possibly I will read a book, though.
(oh, and quote for the day, from the end of a discussion on what the soil stain in our block is, and whether we can convince someone else it's a grave:
Stephen: I don't think there's anything else it could be. [than a grave]
me: nothing?
Stephen: It could be nothing.)
