Oh, and I just won an e-bay auction (a thing I haven't done since I signed up for e-bay in, um, '01?) since the few things I've gotten recently were buy-it-now style, and it was a cheap bead lot from someone who had leftovers from a project which I bid on and forgot about on friday, and within half an hour of winning the auction, the shipping label had been printed out and ready to go. Apparently parts of the world have gotten faster in the past few years...
Meanwhile, 1.5 of my 4.5 maybes showed up for craft day yesterday, which was entirely sufficient to keep me entertained through finishing 4 projects-- or five, if you count the experimental bubble tea. What we learn is that the tapioca pearls available undyed from the asian grocery store cook up clear, unless you don't cook them quite long enough in which case they have white centers and look like frog eggs. Much to the entertainment of the consumers, in this particular case.

Please pardon the flash... projects are the pants, the ribbon belt, and the terribly odd papercraft rabbit. (why I felt a need for the rabbit, I couldn't exactly tell you, but it is now staring mournfully up at Waif and distracting him from the tangram duck he's created) Also completed was the neck hem on Lady's green dress, and the bubble tea, which we consumed without photography. The nautiloid remains incomplete-- it is up to two tentacles, but I've gone and gotten distracted by another bead project, which is turning out somewhat oddly so far. We'll see.
