Look! my hair is blue! (ok, it's only a plastic bit...)
My brain checked out probably some time this morning, although I was able to get a little bit done... I suspect the problem is that I have one of those amorphus things that would be a cold if my immune system were a little less competent, but instead is just kind of a minor sniffle and tired and stuff. And at the moment lack of constructive thought.
So instead of things that involved thinking, I made a huge mess with broken glass chips on my floor-- yes, I did put down newspaper before I started flaking, but not over a 5-foot circle from where I was. I am probably going to regret this when I'm stepping on tiny slivers of glass for the next several months. But I now have produced a somewhat crude projectile point out of green glass, which is kind of cool...
Meanwhile,
troyfish has gone off to Caer Mear fight practice, and I couldn't go, because (while I am not actually going to DE tonight after all, though I didn't actually know that until after it would have been too late anyway) I have to leave here unnecessarily early in the morning to be there by 9:30. Fortunately, with the possible exception of the stretch of beltway between 95 and 50 E, the traffic should mainly be going the other direction. And of course, in theory I could actually go down to Richmond practice occasionally myself; I just have this tendancy to want someone else to battle the traffic. Or at least keep me entertained while I'm driving through it. Although I find it amusing that I still run into Caer Mear people at events who make pointed comments about my not coming to practice anymore, and I have to explain once again that I don't actually live there... and I only went to their practice for about two months, really. Silly people...
And of course if I were virtuous, I'd actually make the effort to get to Lochmere practice, which is also on tuesdays and I've been not getting around to for so long it's becoming a habit. See me not in columbia again this week... And, I really ought to go a few times, because there are lochmere people I haven't ever fought and really should. And Alice actually owes me a fight from about a year ago, which was the last time we were both at the same Ponte Alto practice. (She might have come out to some of the sunday ones since then, but I've been avoiding sunday practices because they seem to be when all the cross-over types decide to play with the heavy fighers, so there's usually a sad lack of anybody for me to fight anyway)... I may not make it tomorrow, but I'm planning on heading up to the Tadcaster Militia practice in Philly some wednesday while I'm already part of the way there. Although it's still somewhat of a long way, which is sad. I finally sorted out that there is an actual deleware practice, but it's on fridays (and run by Alain Longship. How odd-- I had no idea he was so local)-- who the heck schedules their fencing practice for friday nights? Weird.
ok, I stop whining and go read a book or something now. Someday I will be productive again, really. I wonder when?
