(and that bottle? It's only a mini one, but it used to hold pomegranate liquor and I drank virtually all of it, mostly mixed with cranberry juice. Aren't you proud of me? Twenty nine years old and I account for my first bottle of alcohol. Go figure.)

I don't think it is Martel she's missing-- I think it's someone I haven't met. Hence the instrument, which she doesn't actually play.

Martel might have some words for her, but I'm not sure they're nice. Then again, I don't really know. He might adore soul thieves for all I know.

I don't know-- it's not altogether clear that everyone notices having lost their soul. Or perhaps he was finding it a burden to him? Who can say.

But I'm fairly sure that she's playing around with the lute-thing because she's missing Thomas, whoever he might be. It's his instrument, since no one else knows how to play it.
