If you are an american (and I think that's everyone) you should READ THIS ARTICLE, all the way to the end. Yes, it is from the Belfast Telegraph; my indirect source (through the previously mentioned post) was unable to find this information in the American media. What you think of it is your choice; but it's something that ought to be known.

I also see very little point to rants that basically say "why is everyone so intolerant and disagreeing with me?".

I think perhaps my definition of childish has a great deal in common with attack_laurel's in this case. I recommended the post because some of the particular points she listed are very close to a lot of things I hate about the world as I see it recently; I read it as more: "why is everyone so intolerant and unable to deal with it in a rational manner?" This may just be the angle I look at the world from.
