I posted the journal I made with a candyland board for the covers for my disappearing-swap-partner, and someone mentioned having been horribly upset when they changed the board. And so I had to do a search to see what they'd changed it to, and found this:

this woman is... I'm not quite sure what the appropriate adjective would be. Somewhere between absolutely amazing and completely insane. (I also really like some of her multimedia maps)

Remind me again why I didn't want to be an artist when I grew up? Oh well.

The doll has been dremeled (part 1) and now I'm working on drying contour putty (in the stupid humidity, so coat 1 is still not fully dry from last night) and various spraying of substances. For next time, I wish to remember the following:

*bug spray and June outdoors go well together
*wash hands between handling sawdust and handling doll parts
*cranberry juice + sealant does not make a healthy or tasty beverage
*light is your friend
*REMOVE bug spray & sprayed clothing as soon as it becomes no longer necessary

definitely insane, but in a kind of nifty way. I think something like that would be super cool if you polly'd the top so you can still use it as a game board.

A long time ago I set out to make a series of fabric game "boards" that were full sized and could be drawn up to act as pouches for the pieces of that game. I finished two and started about 10 :P This makes me want to go back to that project and actually do it well.

I should be working. It is sad.

I have a checker board like that from my ren faire days. Kind of fun, except that I had a huge trouble not winning against little kids...
