"What I did on my summer vacation:"
Jul. 20th, 2008 10:06 amKicking around the doll con, and I'm actually doing a pretty good job of just wandering about and socializing with random people I don't know at all. The vendors are almost disappointing-- they have lots of fascinating things, but mostly not ones I want. Probably good, that. Lady now has hideously blue boots, plus another pair that need some... adjusting, but should turn out looking somewhat more civilized when I'm done. I hope. And there were several high-heeled styles that would have been excellent, only they were too small for her feet. (nobody-- by which I mean her manufacturer as well-- makes shoes for her high heel feet. Which is odd, since she can't stand on them without...)
Anyway, I have "borrowed" (for a large sum of money to be refunded when I return it) a wireless bridge from the front desk so that my poor pathetic computer can actually get to the network 19 floors up, discovered the row of decently priced cute little restaurants behind the hotel so that I didn't have to pay $15+ for french toast at the hotel breakfast (ugh, and I thought the train was a bit overpriced...), learned a couple interesting things to play with in photoshop from
zagzagael (who was not at all how I'd pictured her, although at this point the reality has superseded whatever mental picture I had so I couldn't tell you what that was), and met Batchix (who said she wasn't coming!) and possibly even managed not to be embarrassingly fangirl at her while she admired Puck. And stuff.
Anyway, fun is being had, at least in moderate amounts, and I need to come up with something more interesting to wear for today than yesterday. I went with somewhat subtle, and felt horribly boring compared with the handful of gothy types wandering around in fun skirts and pseudo steampunk and things.
