I meant to do this... months ago, actually

I don't remember if I mentioned that when my grandmother died, I inherited one of the paintings that my grandfather did that had been in their house and later her room in the assisted living facility. (My grandfather did oils of landscapes, often working from slides projected onto the canvas for the initial sketch-- so the picture of the mittens (rock formation in southern CO) that my parents have always had is actually reversed left-to-right from the real world) And the evening when we were at my uncle's house for a family get-together before the funeral, we ended up going through the stack of other paintings he had in the basement and pulling out three more oils, one of which was a sailing ship that my father kept (and I don't think it was done by anyone we know) and two more landscapes-- one I thought my father wanted, and one I claimed myself. And then it turned out that I got both of them. So I have two paintings hung up in my room, which there is only sort of display space for, and one that needs a frame, and is currently sitting on the side table where it really probably shouldn't be, as I think that gets a swath of sunlight most mornings.... right. now I have to go and have a Good Day (as required since I'm now having fun for someone else as well, since he gets to be disgustingly busy instead.)
