The *only* classical radio station in the DC area has (as of 8 pm last night) switched from WGMS to WETA... GMS is dead, no further explanation than that the stupid redskins coach was planning on buying it some time ago. ETA (which was my radio station during high school, and then went to more and more news with less and less music, and finally morphed into "your station for NPR and BBC news" at which point it ceased to be my station at all) has repented of its ways and gone back to mostly classical. With much hype. It is very odd.

As of the end of the day yesterday, half the delaware crew has been pulled for an "emergency phase 1" out by Dulles. Which means that by thursday, we'll be down to 3 people out here, and so there is no chance of finishing this week after all. (and the one person who could do this project, but couldn't do any of the others, randomly quit. possibly related to the fact that he kept whining about never leaving the site "on time." we don't think he has another job or anything.)

people are weird, did I mention that recently?

Oh, and I have a goal-- someday, I should like to go over the bay bridge when someone *else* is driving, so I can stare out the windows the whole time. Pretty water! Although we left late enough on friday that I got to cross the bridge when there was 2-way traffic on my span, which was kind of cool.

oh, right, that was what else. I looked at my calender and realized that I'm not going to be going to Ice Castles. Which is very sad, but it would be far sadder to drive home from here, re-pack, drive to blacksburg, and then turn around and go home with just about enough time to wash my field clothes and re-pack again before suddenly it's monday morning and I'd be driving back out to DE.

So those of you who are doing stuff local this weekend, drop me a line if you'd like. And those of you who are fighting and things, I'll probably attempt to catch up with you at Ymir. (this project can't possibly last another three weeks, right? um...)
