I don't know how much rain they got in Lorton this weekend (yes, it is all of a 20 minute drive south of here) but I know it rained here from Saturday night off and on through Monday morning. And the soils we're digging in are so dry they're half-way to white and blow up into your face from the screen even when you put the nice strong breeze at your back.
And they say that the storm last week dropped what, 10 inches of rain on Florida? And that the state is needs another three times that before they're back up to normal rainfall for the year.
There was a conversation a while back about comparing this to refueling in mid-air... I think it's more like going to one of those gas stations where they stop the pump at $50 when you've got a 70 gallon tank to fill. Need more rain. ( work digression(s)... )
