Tact and courtesy are what allow us to deal with each other relatively amicably in our day-to-day lives. But when these break down, there is no substitute for honesty. If you tell your friend why you hate what I am doing, I may never know you hate it. I never wish to be told that my behavior has caused a problem, but you are too polite to tell me what I have done, or what that problem is.
