today's lessons:
Aug. 1st, 2008 12:35 pm*attempting to decant brains late into the night is often counter-productive, and may lead to sleeping fitfully in the midst of fragmentary dreams from which one wakes just enough to make mental notes not to remember or continue them.
*do not allow stupid dealership service people to talk you into changing extra fluids in the car when they call to say everything else is fine. Or they will charge you an extra $250 for doing things that the manual says NEVER NEED TO BE DONE. (bah. and being sleep-deprived, I remembered this some time *after* I'd given the authorization.)
*office store copy services DO NOT wish you to know how much printing and binding your document will cost. And their websites are cleverly designed so that no price listing exists; instead you must attempt to load the document, which will fail to work properly, give you wildly inaccurate numbers, and not allow you to go on to work out the details. Or it'll ask you for an account login (which I fail to have) before proceeding.
*the internet is evil, and I cannot find any of the information I am looking for on it. (doll people-- how tall are the Volks SD17 bodies? And how are they different from SD16? I feel that I should be able to locate this info somewhere, but it is eluding me...)
Car should be ready by about 2, so I am going back to sleep until then.
