The Folger theater has sent me haggis recipes, and while I find this vaguely interesting, I have not got spare sheep bits of the non-plush sort, and I find it further disturbing that the modern recipe contains the notation "1 teaspoon dried ground herbs" at the end of the ingredient list. What? I might expect such imprecision out of a medieval recipe, but this smacks of the frustration I've been feeling of finding half the herb section in the grocery stores made up of pre-mixed things, so that I don't get any price comparison options on the things I actually want. Doesn't anyone else mix their own seasonings anymore?
A question for the populace: Does anyone know where to find short-grain brown rice around here? Or indeed at all?
(I feel that there were more things I wanted to ask, but I can't recall what they were at present.)
