thanate: (bluehair)

(from left to right)
Exhibit A: actually, I'm not sure when this got disintegrated, but half the head is sheared off (the right side is more or less what it's supposed to look like)
Exhibit B: hammer drill bit with no head left at all, and well, look at it, after 2 holes in the basement wall attempting to set screws to mount the new water heater.
Exhibit C: the portion of screw #1 not still in the wall.
Exhibit D: screw #2 was not helped by the hammer drill in the least. (yes, we were following the instructions)

Then there was a move on to wall anchors, which only worked marginally better. (ie, one of them set very nicely...) But at least we don't have it as bad as the house next door did yesterday:

Aside from all that, I spent the morning leading a bunch of boys & girls club volunteers to pick up trash along the sea wall at the wetland by Ft McHenry, and one of the kids managed to net a juvenile green heron by mistake. (The heron was subsequently untangled, checked for damages by the resident bird expert, and carried off to leave in some secluded area of the marsh to recover. Prognosis seemed reasonably favorable.)

It may never be dry enough to pour the basement, but life goes on, I guess.
